Note from Srikanth

Dear All,
Welcome.
Piano Lab is the kind of place that I once yearned to study in as a child. Complete with a fascinating holistic curriculum, highly talented teachers and best in class facilities, Piano Lab is a supreme institution for learning the piano. This is my endeavour to share all the expertise and music practices that I had learnt from some of the world’s finest masters of the piano. The institution strives to turn out wholesome musicians with personalities of the highest order who can create a healthy society through their common love for music.

Testimonials
“Srikanth accompanied the fall 2019 production of The Music Man at Kodaikanal International School. He was diligent, talented and communicative. As he was brought in at the last minute, he spent his days learning the 2-hour score. He blended musicality with what the students needed. He was patient and understanding and always knew how to assist myself, the Director and the Music Director. Srikanth worked extra hours with the leads and was a tireless asset to the production. He adapted and fit with the team and the cast seamlessly. I would highly recommend him and would readily hire him again in the future. “

“I have known Srikanth for the past decade. I’ve always admired his keenness for perfection. When I worked with him on Stephen Sondheim’s Company, he came across as a pianist of exceptional talent with a strong dedication for the arts. He helped us in a capacity which was more than that of a pianist. I have personally worked with him on a few of my recitals and I have thoroughly enjoyed the process.”

“My daughter Shruthi Narayanan has been learning from Srikanth for the past 6years since she was 6years old. He had been a great source of inspiration to her. His music knowledge, teaching methodology is highly commendable. He has groomed Shruthi quite well not only in her piano skills but had a great impact on her overall personality. He is a person who leads by example. His discipline, punctuality and his focus inspires us a lot. This has a very positive lasting impact on his students. We had been very lucky to have him as the tutor as it is really hard to find such dedicated teachers nowadays.”
Uma Srinivasan
Mother of Shruthi (Grade 6)
“My daughter’s introduction to music through piano was with Srikanth. She started learning piano with him at the age of 7 years. The fact that she is still continuing at 12, says a lot about Srikanth as a teacher. He is patient and provides enough opportunities for the student to grow as a musician. He sets the right balance – of keeping the students at ease as well as throwing some challenges. Srikanth’s focus on making the students perform on stage and shed inhibitions has been a very important milestone for my daughter. As a parent, I have enjoyed seeing my daughter’s journey and how she embraced piano at an early age. “

“As an adult learner, I always had issues with overthinking, irregular practice etc. The patience that Srikanth has been showing towards the students is something that is very much essential for any teacher. This quality made me go back to him when he had come back to India. The techniques/exercises that he shows me for each of my playing issues is mind blowing. “

“Srikanth’s classes offer a blend of learning music with amusement and integration of strong theoretical knowledge as well. He is very interactive in the class and ensures that you understand what is being taught before proceeding. I enjoy his classes very much, I find every class extremely interesting and helps me to build my musical knowledge. The growth I have seen in myself due to his guidance is invaluable. He has taught me many things far beyond my syllabus and helped me broaden my horizons.”

“Srikanth taught us to perceive music as a dialogue in a different language, and pay attention to the emotion that every note brought with it. Instead of frowning at or berating us for our mistakes, he was understanding, patient and accommodative, which helped us face our challenges and improve, rather than running away from them. Within two years, I had gone from a being a beginner to grade 4, under Srikanth’s tutelage. I would highly recommend Piano Lab to anyone with an interest in piano. I am absolutely certain that it would be a wholesome and unforgettable learning experience.”

“Like any parent would prefer, I too wanted to give my kids the best piano training in the most professional way. With the professional approach of Mr. Srikanth coupled with his knowledge and expertise, I am sure my kids are at the right place for their piano lessons. When it comes to the lessons, it is not just playing piano. Mr. Srikanth who is a graduate from UK also trains the students aural lessons and music theory too which are very important for a pianist.”

As a parent, my dream for my daughter was loud and clear — she should grow up learning, knowing, and enjoying music. Having been a teacher myself, I knew the importance of a good teacher in sparking a child’s interest in music. Disheartened by several failed starts, I had almost given up when I was directed to Srikanth. Now, it is almost a year since our daughter started her lessons and it has been everything I dreamt of. Srikanth’s patience, encouragement, and techniques in teaching has inculcated in Alana not only confidence and proficiency, but also a deep love for music. Alana’s dedication to her classes is so much that her four-year-old brother insists that he join Srikanth’s class as well. We are glad that we found Srikanth at the right time, and thankful for the magic he has worked with his unique methods in teaching music.”
